Tuakana Hostel Project Update 8

And there you have it, our Napier based team are wrapping up on the Tuakana Hostel project for 2024. We have been issued clearance on all external class B work on the west wing and the scaffolding team are busy taking down the scaffold before the break. We have also achieved clearance of all class A work inside the west wing, preparing the building for demolition in the new year.

We have had the team from Sabre Timber stripping all the salvageable native timber from both the inside and outside the west wing for re-use, this effectively extends the life cycle of the timber. We strive to maximise all sustainability opportunities on every project we undertake.

It is crucial to leave the site in a protected state over Christmas break, our team have been busy removing all asbestos waste and valuables from site and establishing safeguards to deter vandals.

Scopes hard work has paid off, the team have achieved some impressive milestones throughout the year and deserve a well earnt break. Well done to the team for consistently working together to tackle this project successfully.
