DEMOLITION & ASBESTOS REMOVAL
AT LIQUID BAR
Location
Nelson
Completion Date
April 2024
The Scope Team worked hard to successfully deliver the asbestos removal and demolition of the Liquid Bar in Nelson. The Liquid Bar was located in central Nelson, surrounded by multiple commercial businesses with significant foot traffic. Therefore, this project was considered high risk. To fully eliminate risk exposure, we implemented stringent safeguards throughout the duration of the project which took all environmental and safety factors into consideration. Following establishment on site including the implementation of traffic management and walkway protection controls, we commenced the asbestos works which included the removal of vinyl under class A conditions and the removal of decramastic roof tiles.
On issue of clearance, the Scope Team immediately commenced the demolition of structure, methodically completing a section at a time to allow the excavator to move into the footprint of the building and progressively load out materials until the structure was fully demolished.
We always strive to reduce our environmental footprint on every project by developing methodologies which incorporate key steps such as materials separation. This reduces the volume of waste we send to landfill and maximises our opportunity for recycling or repurpose. On the Liquid Bar project, the steel was separated out for recycling purposes and the concrete and brick from the walls and foundation was crushed for reuse.
Our high-quality, professional services ensured this project was delivered to a high standard and all milestones were successfully achieved.
