We’re pleased to announce the successful demolition of the former Rangiora Police Station. This high-profile site came with challenges that required careful planning and communication to ensure seamless delivery. The site was surrounded by commercial business’s, a residential dwelling, the historic Rangiora Town Hall and local school all within close proximity to the boundary fence.

By completing the majority of demolition work during the school holiday period, we successfully minimised impact on the neighbouring school. Recognising that this timing coincided with the Rangiora Town Hall peak season, we implemented a customised approach to ensure their operations continued uninterrupted.

Our team carefully scheduled higher-impact demolition work outside the Cinema’s 10am-10pm business hours, demonstrating our commitment to community partnership. Our consideration received enthusiastic feedback from the Town Hall Cinema management, who commended both our efficiency and minimal disruption to their business operations.

Our commitment to environmental sustainability delivered exceptional outcomes. We diverted a total of 94.77% of demolition waste from landfill, which is broken down as follows:

  • General waste to landfill: 108 tonnes
  • Steel recycled: 75 tonnes
  • Concrete crushed for reuse: 1,885 tonnes

Of the recycled concrete, 864 tonnes went back into the project, effectively extending the life cycle of the material.

This project showcases our dedication to delivering exceptional results while prioritising community relationships and sustainability. This is a reflection of the Scope’s core values, which we apply to all of our projects.

This impressive demolition project has been captured from start to finish, please watch the project summary and timelapse video to witness the evolution of the site.
